Education and Experience...

Linda Lewellyn first sang in public at the age of five, and was hooked! She started private voice lessons at fifteen on a scholarship, and focused on music throughout the school years, majoring in voice and performance at the University of Texas, Austin. She always loved singing rock, jazz and classical, and therefore dropped out of the strictly classical program at UT when she was twenty and started singing professionally. After a successful run in a cabaret show in Austin, Linda moved to New York City and continued her voice and performance studies with Broadway veteran Ellie Ellsworth. While in New York, Linda worked in off-broadway theater and became a recording studio engineer. At the age of thirty, she moved to Colorado to finish her music degree at Naropa University, where she also holds a degree in psychology, and has adjunct faculty status. Linda has been singing and teaching in Boulder for fourteen years.

Linda's performing experience is extensive and varied. She’s always maintained her love of classical music, and recently spent 5 years with Boulder’s internationally acclaimed Ars Nova Singers as a mezzo soprano soloist. She also spent 3 years as lead singer of The Legendary 4-Nikators. Linda has backed-up, opened for, recorded with, and/or taught some wonderful local artists like Rebecca Folsom, Tim Duffy, Hazel Miller, Rebecca Hoggan(Hit & Run), Fred Gowdy(The Freddi-Henchi Band), Skye Downing, Liza Oxnard(Zuba,Liza & The Soul Stars), Kory Brunson, Libby Kirkpatrick, & Barbara Paris. She is a back-up singer on Mofro’s latest release, “Country Ghetto” on Alligator records. Her single “Blind Eye” can be heard on the “No Man’s Land” show at preyinglizardmusic.com, one of the top 5 indie music podcasts in the country. Linda currently sings jazz/soul/r&b/funk/motown in clubs and for private events in the Denver/Boulder area, writes, records, and teaches voice & performance. Past and current venues include the Brown Palace, Nissi's, Hotel Boulderado, The Fox Theater, Flatz Restaurant, The Boulder Theatre, St. Julien Hotel & Spa, Band on the Bricks, The Boulder Marriott, The Greenbriar Inn, and The Red Lion Inn, to name a few.
